Cobalt aka Kobe's Story

We pulled Cobalt from San Diego Department of Animal Services this week! He was getting severely kennel stressed at DAS Bonita then transferred to DAS Carlsbad, where he was ultimately picked up from.

The Bonita shelter said Cobalt came into their care at the end of December as a stray. Where he was uneasy to sum up his initial behavior in the shelter. Alongside that he disliked the kennel. Once out, he would soften and release some of that angst. FAST FORWARD TO NOW. HE LOVES THE TOYS! ESPECIALLY HIS , HIS CRINKLE DOG AND DINOSAUR

Cobes' loves walking! And is a good walker. He gets excited when he sees his leash and starts out the gate strong, however, with redirection you can get him back to a good pace (i.e., no pulling). He naps in a crate when no one's looking, but, does not sleep in the crate just yet ...

He's done good with the dogs at his interim household where there are 6 dogs from small to medium/large (male and female).

ALTHOUGH COBALT MADE IT OUT OF THE SHELTER, WE NEED YOUR HELP MORE THAN EVER TO FIND A FOSTER FOR THIS BUBBAS!!!!! He is available to set up meet and greets!

UPDATES - 5/8/26

Cobalt aka Kobe. We are baffled that no one has adopted this handsome boy. We think maybe because the person who discarded him clipped his ears, which makes him look scary, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Things Kobe loves:
- car rides
- long walks with lots of stops to smell around
- sleeping
- napping
-
