Clyde's Story

Sweet Clyde is a one-in-a-million dog who had a rough start in life.

This poor dog lived on the streets of Dallas for at least a year! He was being fed by some kind people at a fabric shop downtown, and when it wasn't meal time. you could find Clyde hanging out with other street dogs or sleeping under a highway bridge.

Clyde was actually closest to another dog we nicknamed Bonnie (get it? Bonnie & Clyde?), and they ran around together every day as strays. While we tried to get them adopted together for months, a wonderful home came along for Bonnie (now Winnie) and we had to let her go. But they still come back for visits. See them pictured together right before being rescued.

Well their days of fending for themselves came to an end when Happy Furever heard their story and went to pick them up.

Clyde is now in good health and feeling great thanks to some TLC. He did have a bit of separation anxiety at first - I mean who wouldn't after living on the streets for so long - but he has learned how to trust that we really will come back if we run a quick errand.

Clyde is an absolute sweetheart - he loves people, kids, and other dogs. He is a pretty quiet and gentle dog, although he will play a little. He mainly wants a nice bed to lay on and to snuggle up with people and other dogs. This dog will bond deeply to his family and be the best dog you ever had. He has the cutest head tilt like he's pondering life, and he can't wait to meet you!

This dog is now thriving and ready for his Happy Furever. Come meet him!
