Clyde's Story
It’s time to post Clyde for public adoption because every dog deserves their chance! That said, we are going to be very honest. Clyde will need a special home.

Clyde is a five month old lab mix who came into rescue with absolutely no socialization. Truly zero. Early on, fear ruled his world and he reacted defensively. While he has made huge progress, leashes are still something he dislikes and will need continued patience and positive guidance on.

Because of this, a securely fenced yard is a nonnegotiable. Clyde needs safe outdoor freedom while he continues learning about the world, and his adopter should expect to use lots of treats and gradual exposure when working toward public outings.

Clyde also arrived unsure about other dogs, which is uncommon for a puppy his age. With time, slow introductions, and confidence building, we realized his reactions were fear based, not aggression. Today, we are happy to report that Clyde does beautifully with dogs of all sizes and personalities! With proper intros.

Humans, however, are his absolute favorite. Clyde bonds quickly and deeply, and while his loyalty is strong, he does not reserve his love for just one person. He is more than happy to adore multiple people as long as he is showered with attention and treated like the baby he believes he is!

Clyde will need an adopter who is home more often than not and willing to continue his confidence building journey. Once he is comfortable, he is a typical playful puppy who wants nothing more than to be near his people.

He is potty trained when taken out consistently and appreciates a little hand holding to make sure the job gets done. He is still learning that the crate is not the end of the world but continues to make progress.

Clyde can live with other dogs with proper introductions (quick turnaround), does well with cats, and would do best with older, respectful children who understand his sensitive nature.

With a patient adopter, Clyde will shine in ways that make every extra bit of effort worth it!

Interested?!

Start by completing the adoption application linked below (click more about)!
