Cliff's Story

Cliff -- Available!!
Intake date 19 July 2021

neutered male chocolate tri herding breed mixy-mix, appx weight 35ish lbs
Approximate birthdate 18 February 2021

You've heard of Clifford the big red dog? Well, this is Cliff, the little red dog ? Cliff was transferred to us from an all breed rescue for placement by a breed specific rescue. Up to the point where we received him, Cliff had been carried around quite a bit, and had developed some trust issues and defensive fear related behaviour. He has spent quite a bit of time with us learning big dog behaviour and is a kennel favorite. He is snuggly and sweet with his people, adores playing with other dogs, and is super responsive to appropriate training and well set parameters.

Cliff has excellent recall, and is well crate trained. Additionally, he does well in a box kennel with other dogs, and really loves his peeps -- canine and human.

Anyone interested in adopting Cliff should be prepared to continue the work started here. Cliff is well crate trained, is a super dog/dog player, and will thrive with well set boundaries, lots of play and training. Cliff is available to an experienced training centered home, with multiple stable dogs. He will not be placed into a home with children.

This dog is located in Maryland - we do not ship or transport dogs. For information on adoption, an FAQ, and our application, please see our website at mabcr.org. If you are interested in adoption, please submit an application, complete with documentation.

Dogs that have not lived previously with children will not be offered to homes where young children reside. We do not 'test' dogs with children or cats, since testing may not show an accurate picture, and may give false comfort to their new home. If a dog has lived with children or cats, that will be stated above.
.
Please note that some young dogs may be placed with a neuter deposit and contract, and any available dog may be placed with a training deposit and contract -- this would be noted on offer, prior to placement. For additional information on these policies, please see our website.
.
Questions about dogs are generally not answered here due to lack of staffing.
Additional information and photos will be posted here as time permits.
