Hey there, I'm Cletus!<br/><br/>I'm one of those dogs who makes you slow down a little. Not because I have anywhere I need to be, but because I think life is better when you take your time and enjoy the good stuff.<br/><br/>I'm a senior gentleman these days, and I've settled very comfortably into my role as a professional lounger, leisurely explorer, and world-class snuggle buddy. I enjoy mellow walks where I can stop and investigate every interesting smell, finding a cozy place to stretch out, and simply hanging out with my person.<br/><br/>And then there are ear scratches.<br/><br/>Ohhhhh, the ear scratches.<br/><br/>If you find the right spot, I will lean my entire floppy self into you, close my eyes, and let out the biggest, happiest sigh... like you've just solved every problem I've ever had. Keep scratching. I promise I'll remind you when you stop.<br/><br/>I'm also a very serious blanket enthusiast.<br/><br/>Give me a pile of blankets and I will dive directly into them, dig around like I've got somewhere extremely important to be, rearrange everything, and then settle down as though I personally designed the entire thing. It's one of my favorite hobbies. Really, I take my blanket work very seriously.<br/><br/>I'm a little quirky. I'm a little floppy. I have the sweetest puppy-dog face despite being a seasoned gentleman. And I have this wonderfully endearing way about me that is hard to explain until you've spent some time with me. I do occasionally have something to say, too. I'm not overly vocal, but every now and then I'll have a little something to tell you. Maybe I need something, maybe something has caught my attention, or maybe I've simply decided you should be aware of what's going on. Either way, I'll make sure you know. Someone has to keep you informed!<br/><br/>I do have some medical challenges these days, but they're managed with diet and medication. What I need most is a home that understands that I'm a slower-paced guy now. I'm not looking for a packed schedule or nonstop adventure. I'm looking for a soft place to land and someone who enjoys the simple things as much as I do.<br/><br/>A morning sniff around the yard.<br/><br/>A leisurely stroll.<br/><br/>A sunny spot to nap.<br/><br/>A pile of blankets to disappear into.<br/><br/>A couch to stretch out on.<br/><br/>A quiet evening beside my favorite person.<br/><br/>And, obviously, plenty of ear scratches.<br/><br/>I would prefer to be your one and only pet, and I'd love a family who will give me the time and patience to settle in and truly feel at home.
