Cleopatra's Story

Meet Cleopatra!

Cleopatra's story is one of rescue, resilience, and second chances. She was rescued from the sewer as a tiny pup by our very own director, Lisa, and her siblings. At just 9 weeks old, she was adopted into a loving home where she spent the next six years as a cherished family member. When her owner recently passed away, she was surrendered to Rancho Cucamonga shelter. The shelter staff went above and beyond to track us down, and we were determined to bring her back where she belonged. It took effort, coordination, and transport to make it happen, but we knew she deserved a second chance.

Now 6 years old, Cleopatra is a medium-large mixed breed with stunning blue and amber eyes and a gorgeous cream and tan coat. She carries the weight of her past gently—she's a bit shy at first and reserved when meeting new people. But with patience and kindness, she opens up beautifully. She's loving, affectionate, and genuinely enjoys human connection once she trusts you.

We're still getting to know how she does with other dogs, but she's been an absolute joy to have around. After everything she's been through, Cleopatra deserves a home where she can finally settle in, feel safe, and be loved for exactly who she is. Apply to adopt Cleopatra today!

*About Our Adoption Process*

By submitting your application, you're confirming you're ready to move forward with the adoption process immediately if approved. Additionally, we don't hold dogs. We typically receive multiple applications for a single dog, but we'll only move forward with one applicant at a time.

Our adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery (if covered through our partner vet), microchip and registration, and vaccinations and deworming as needed for that dog at the time of adoption. Once adopted, all veterinary care is the adopter's responsibility.

Big Love Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Hello and thank you for visiting Big Love Animal Rescue’s Petfinder page. This is the primary page of where all of our available animals are listed for adoption as well as on our instagram. Please note we do NOT have a brick and mortar location where you can meet our animals. All our animals are placed in pre-screened foster homes across LA county until they are adopted. Because we are a small rescue, we are limited on time, resources and manpower; with that, we unfortunately cannot reply to every inquiry while also maintaining our rescue duties. If you're interested in one of our dogs/cats, you must fill out an adoption application on our website in order to be considered. We review every single application submitted, and though we have hundreds of amazing, qualified applicants, we can only choose one applicant per dog. We then reach out to top applicant for a meet and greet. If it is a successful meet and greet, a three day trial is given before an adoption fee and contract is due. A home check is required as well. The adoption fee covers vaccinations to adoption date, microchip and spay/neuter at one of our veterinarians. We note we only adopt out in Southern California due to expenses, logistics and because we want to easily get the dog back if anything goes wrong at any point in their lives.
