*PLEASE CLICK "SHOW MORE" below to continue reading about Cleo.<br/><br/>Meet Charismatic Cleo a 9-month-old 55 lb. female Goldendoodle puppy, who is in an IDOG foster home in Fort Collins, Colorado.<br/><br/>FAST FACTS ABOUT CLEO:<br/>*AGE: 9 months old (birthdate is unknown, her vet estimated she is 9 months old; born in December 2025)<br/><br/>*WEIGHT: 55 lbs. she needs to gain weight & will likely be closer to 75 lbs as an adult.<br/><br/>*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical fence & yard are required. She loves to be outside & the freedom that she to run around as much as she wants in a fenced yard. No shock collars or invisible fences will be considered, as these would not set her up for success.<br/><br/>*COAT TYPE: Soft slightly wavy, low-shedding coat. Adopter should be prepared to have her groomed regularly (about every 8 weeks) with an estimated cost of $120/groom.<br/><br/>*ENERGY LEVEL: medium energy level. She may look full grown, but she is still very much a puppy & will benefit from continued obedience training, socialization, mental stimulation, & daily exercise. She gets excited when you come home & will jump up to greet you. She loves playing with toys & especially enjoys a good game of fetch well, once she gets the ball it becomes more of a game of keep away! She currently walks about two miles a few times a week & does great with regular exercise. She knows how to settle down and is perfectly content napping while her foster mom works & will happily go to bed when you do, although she does love an early morning! Her biggest bursts of energy are usually after breakfast & again after dinner, but she’s always ready to play throughout the day. Like many puppies, Cleo can be a little mouthy when she’s playing; she isn’t aggressive—it’s simply her goofy way of trying to play & get your attention.<br/><br/>*DOGS: Yes! Cleo has loved every dog she’s met. Her fosters have 2 dogs, & she does great with both. Her foster family also frequently dog-sits, so Cleo has had the opportunity to live & interact with dogs of all different ages, sizes, & personalities & she has done wonderfully with each of them. She does a great job adjusting her play style to match the other dog’s energy level. Cleo absolutely LOVES to wrestle! <br/><br/>*CATS: unknown<br/><br/>*KIDS: Yes! Due to her size, playful mouthiness, & tendency to jump when excited, Cleo would do best in a home with dog-savvy children ages 10 & older.<br/><br/>*CAR: does well in the car!<br/><br/>*CRATE: may bark for a few minutes when first put in her crate; she typically settles down within 5–10 minutes. Since she is still a puppy & is currently crated when left unattended to keep her safe & out of mischief. It will be important to continue keeping her in a secure space when no one is home until she matures & can be trusted on her own. Giving her a treat when she goes into her crate definitely helps! Once she settles in, she’s usually fast asleep. In fact, when you get home, you may forget she’s even in there because she typically doesn’t make a peep until you let her out.<br/><br/>*HOUSE TRAINED: She has never had an accident in her foster home.<br/><br/>*LEASH: She needs some leash training but does relatively well already unless she sees a bunny then it’s a little bit of a different story!<br/><br/>*WITH GROOMING: She was definitely a handful during the actual grooming process & kept everyone entertained with her puppy antics. When her foster dad picked her up everyone at the groomer couldn’t stop talking about what a great dog she was & how much they loved her. She may not have earned an A+ for sitting still, but she earned one for personality!<br/><br/>*AT VET: Good, she did whine a little bit though.<br/><br/>*VETTING: Cleo is spayed, microchipped, current on core vaccines & house-trained. She is on monthly heartworm/flea/tick preventives.<br/><br/>MORE ABOUT CLEO:<br/>Cleo is the goofiest, sweetest 9-month-old Goldendoodle puppy who weighs about 55 pounds. She was found as a stray in pretty rough shape; an amazing family took her in & helped nurse her back to health. Unfortunately, their work schedule required a lot of travel, so they weren’t able to keep her. Cleo hasn’t missed a beat since & is now a happy, healthy girl who is ready to find her forever home. We are guessing she is a Goldendoodle but she forgot her birth certificate so we can’t say for certain.<br/> <br/>Cleo is a girl who knows what she wants & adapts well in every situation. She is silly, goofy, smart, & loved by everyone she meets. She absolutely loves her toys & will happily entertain herself; she loves it even more when someone plays with her or she has a doggy friend to join in the fun. She especially LOVES to wrestle with other dogs!<br/> <br/>Cleo hasn’t quite figured out how big she is yet, so she can be clumsy & agile at the same time. She’s still very much a puppy & will need continued obedience training. She listens well but currently only knows a few basic commands (sit, shake, & down). She knows her name, although her hearing can become a little “selective” when she’s busy doing something she finds more interesting.<br/> <br/>Recall is another area Cleo still needs to work on. She will need a securely fenced yard & should not be trusted off leash until she has had more training. She loves everyone she meets, & her foster family has not seen any aggression toward people or other dogs.<br/> <br/>She is also working on her whining, particularly when her foster dad leaves without her. She absolutely adores her foster dad & can get upset when he goes somewhere she can’t follow. She jumps at the door or windows & w&ers around the house whining for a while before eventually settling down. She will occasionally whine at other times for no obvious reason as well. This is something her future family should be prepared to continue working on with patience, training, & maturity.<br/> <br/>She is still a 9-month-old puppy figuring out the world. She has a few puppy behaviors to work through; underneath all of that is a fantastic, affectionate, hilarious dog with HUGE paws, a HUGE heart, & a HUGE personality. With some continued training & time to mature, she is only going to get better. She is just so goofy & lovable that people can’t get enough of her!<br/><br/>IDEAL TYPE OF HOME:<br/>She will need someone who is a patient & dedicated to finishing her training & socialization since she is a puppy in a big body. She has a great, goofy, & curious disposition so training her will be a blast & rewarding. She would do well in a home with another dog but she would also be fine as an only dog.<br/>-Fenced yard where she is able to run & play.<br/>-Owner who is able to walk & ensure her exercise needs are met.<br/><br/>After adoption we ask that you give any rescue dog time to acclimate the 3/3/3 rule 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months. For 3 days after adoption/transition, the dog may wonder who you are, what the routine is, who the other dogs are. After about 3 weeks, the dog has typically acclimated to your schedule & knows her role in the house. She may whine or bark when she’s frustrated, excited, or feels like she’s missing out on something.
