Cleo's Story

Cleo is the ultimate companion dog - affectionate, snuggly, and happiest when she's right by your side. This sweet girl has a playful and goofy side, but she also loves relaxing on the couch and soaking up attention from her people. Whether she's zooming around with toys or curling up next to you for cuddles, Cleo just wants to be your best friend. Her foster says she would be perfect for someone looking for a loyal "buddy" to share everyday life with.

- Best suited for: House or apartment
- Training: Fully housetrained and crate trained
- Alone time: Can be left alone up to 8-9 hours; rests in her crate while her foster is away
- Crate behavior: May hesitate at first but will happily go in for food and settles well
- Leash manners: Still learning leash walking; getting better!
- Energy level: Medium - enjoys playtime and zoomies but settles nicely
- Personality: Affectionate, Chill, Goofy, Snuggly, Quiet, Playful
- Favorite activities: Playing with toys, zooming around, cuddling with her people
- Favorite treats: Wet food
- Fun facts: Cleo loves car rides and hops right in, though she can get a little carsick on very curvy or bumpy roads. She may occasionally pick up things she shouldn't when unsupervised (like a toilet paper roll!), but overall she's a sweet and easygoing girl who just wants to be close to her people.

Adoption includes vaccines, deworming, flea treatment, microchip, heartworm test, and spay/neuter unless medically prohibited.

Greenville County Animal Care's Adoption Policy
Step 1: Browse Our Pets Click on the dog and cat photos above to see animals currently available for adoption. Use the filter option to narrow down your search. Some of our pets live in foster homes and they are available for adoption, too! Step 2: Submit An Adoption Inquiry If you find a pet that you'd like to learn more about, click on their image. If you think they would be a good match and you'd like to visit them, you can either click on the "Apply for Adoption" button and submit an inquiry or you can visit them during our adoption walk-in hours Monday-Saturday 12pm-5pm. Submitting an inquiry does not place a hold or reservation on the pet but it does notify our team that you are interested and that you have more questions or want to set up a time to come visit. Step 3: Meet The Pet If the pet you're interested in is currently living at the shelter, we encourage you to come visit that pet as soon as possible. If you submitted an adoption inquiry, we will try to respond within 1-2 days. If the pet is in a foster home, we will connect you with the pet's foster family and you should get a response directly from the foster family within 1-2 days and they can set up a time for you to meet the pet. Step 4: Determine If It’s A Good Match When you meet the pet, our adoption counselors and foster families will tell you everything they know about the pet and help you to decide if it will be a good match for you, your pets, and your family. If it’s not a good match, that’s okay! We can help you find a better match – there are always lots of dogs and cats that need a home! All Animal Care adoptions include: * Spay or neuter * Microchip and Registration * PetHub ID tag * Vaccines * De-wormer * Flea Treatment * Heartworm Test (for dogs) * Heartworm Treatment for HW+ dogs * Feline Leukemia/FIV Test (for cats)
