Cleo 's Story

Cleo is one of the 500,000 stray dogs from the island of Puerto Rico known as “satos”. She was rescued on November 2021 and is approximately 3-4 years old. She resembles a Chihuahua and has their fun personality. Her trademark is her large dark eyes. She is a small, spirited, spunky, charming girl. Tiny but mighty, big dog attitude, fun and alert. Loves to play with her toys but also loves to take a nap on the bed or couch as long as she is on your side. She is best for someone who spends more time at the house since she tends to get a little anxious when you leave her. She is happy to accompany you on your car to run your errands since she likes to be included in all of your activities. She is friendly to everyone she meets; kids, adults and the elderly. No cats, however. Her best friend is Vixie-with whom she was found living on the streets. They are very bonded and the dream is to have them adopted together; however, if you promise to give all your care to Cleo and promise her a life of endless love and adventures, we will be happy for her. Puerto Rico’s adoption rate is very low and there is only one non kill municipal shelter in the island. This is why many organizations resort to flying their rescued animals to partner shelters or organizations in the states. Cleo can be flown to the United States if her approved adopter lives there.
