Clementine's Story

Meet Clementine! This little three year old chi x was rescued in Texas and brought north for a new life. Clementine is a gentle soul who adores humans but finds the noises of the city a bit overwhelming so would probably prefer a quieter neighborhood. She's a special girl who deserves the best! Her foster says: Clementine is such a little gem. She is the queen of little tippy taps when she gets excited and very food-motivated, particularly if you have chicken. She loves to lie on her back and ask for belly rubs or just snooze right next to you while you hang out. Clementine has got such a cutie little face and soulful eyes that are quite expressive. I have not heard Clementine make one peep since she got here 3 days ago and she sleeps next to me through the night without moving an inch. She was so good in the bath and is just such a darling on walks, stopping to stare at strangers on the street in hopes that they’ll pet her. We had a friend come see her yesterday, and within 10 seconds, Clementine was sitting pretty in her lap, begging for pets and kisses. There is something very special about this dog; you can’t help but fall in love with her. Clementine is definitely still getting used to the city and is very scared, but is already coming out of her shell. I know that with some love and chicken, she’ll build her confidence right up and be the perfect companion for anyone! INTERESTED IN ADOPTING? True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy

First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
