If you are interested in meeting them please call 913-321-1445 or email petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment.<br/><br/>Meet Clay — your future best friend with a big personality packed into a tiny, fluffy body.<br/><br/>At just about 2 months old and 9.4lbs, Clay is a happy, well-rounded Lab mix (with a DNA test currently pending through Wisdom Panel). He’s already off to an amazing start in life and has clearly been soaking up all the good habits!<br/><br/>Clay is wonderfully social and gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes as well as kids of all ages. He’s the kind of puppy who wants to be right in the middle of the action—whether that means playing with his dog friends, chasing toys, or soaking up attention from his humans.<br/><br/>This smart little guy is already showing great house manners. He sleeps soundly in his kennel with no accidents and does an excellent job going potty as soon as his paws hit the grass. He also eats dry kibble like a champ, making mealtime easy and stress-free.<br/><br/>Clay is playful, curious, and always ready for fun—but when it’s time to recharge, he prefers to do his own thing. Instead of being a constant cuddler, he tends to seek out a cool spot on the floor where he can stretch out and nap independently (we suspect that fluffy coat keeps him warm!).<br/><br/>That said, his sweetest moments come in the morning. After a night in his kennel, Clay turns into the ultimate cuddle bug—showering you with love, clinging close, and melting your heart with his adorable puppy cries and tiny teeth as he soaks up all the affection he missed overnight.<br/><br/>Clay is the perfect mix of playful energy and independent spirit, and he’s ready to find a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. <br/><br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A DOG<br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
