I want to play with cats, but I’m not very gentle and have trouble reading their cues.<br/><br/>Things I do in my free time: I love to wrestle and play chase with my foster siblings (male and female dogs). I love to explore the backyard, and chewing on trees is my favorite activity. I’m teething right now, so I like to put everything I find in my mouth. I keep my foster mom busy!<br/><br/>Things I know: I know my crate is where I sleep and eat, and I’m getting more comfortable with it every day. I’m potty trained, but sometimes I have little accidents if I get really excited during playtime.<br/><br/>Things I am learning/currently working on: I’m learning basic commands (sit, stay, lay down), and I’m learning quickly. My foster mom says I’m very smart! I’m also learning what I’m not allowed to play with, and how to play nicely with my canine foster siblings.<br/><br/>Who I currently live with (humans and animals): Foster mom, 2 adult cats, a 1.5 yr-old male dog (he’s my best friend), and an adult female dog.<br/><br/>How I do with kids: I like kids! I do like to jump up on them when we first meet, so my foster mom makes sure she has treats around so we can practice manners.<br/><br/>How I do with dogs: I love playing with my pittie foster siblings! We run, wrestle, and play tug of war with our favorite toys. I get too excited sometimes and start playing too rough, and then I need to be separated until I calm down.<br/><br/>How I do with cats: I’m very excited about cats! Unfortunately, I’m having trouble with boundaries when we play. I would be best suited to a home without cats.<br/><br/>My current size: I weighed 26 pounds as of September 22nd. I can climb up and down stairs, and I can jump onto the couch with a running start. The rescue doesn’t know how big I’ll end up getting since they did not receive any information on my parents, but my weight and big paws probably mean that I’ll be a large dog.<br/><br/>How I do in my kennel: I’m very comfortable in my kennel at night, but I still need a little coaxing to get in the kennel at bedtime. I know to make some noise when it’s time for a bathroom break. I get pretty annoyed when I’m kenneled during the day, but it’s getting a little easier every time.<br/><br/>How I do with car rides: I’m fine with car rides. I like to look out the windows or take a nap.<br/><br/>Am I house trained: I’m potty trained, but sometimes I have little accidents if I get really excited during playtime. My foster mom is working on redirecting me to play with toys if I get into things I shouldn’t chew on.<br/><br/>Additional Info from foster: Claude is a very smart and playful boy. He’s extremely food motivated, which has helped him to pick up basic commands quickly. He loves to cuddle with both people and animals, but he likes to end the night snuggling with his foster mom. Claude would be best suited to home with another dog so that he can burn off his excess energy with lots of playtime.
