Clara's Story

While we have no idea what breed mixture Clara is, whatever the mix it makes for one sweet and loving pup! At less than a year old and 35-40lbs, Clara is sweet, gorgeous, soft and ready to make one lucky person very happy.

Clara is constantly looking for guidance on how to make her foster mom happy and wants to even make her foster dog siblings happy. While she does play often with her fur foster siblings, her favorite activity with getting loved on or cuddling with her foster mom. Clara has the most striking coat that is a soft mixture of dark colors which makes us believe she has some shepherd in her and makes snuggling with her like loving on a big teddy bear.

Clara would do best in a home with a person or family who wants to lead her or a pup companion who can give her guidance as she is not a leader but a follower. We really believe she would do best to be in a home with a dog to play with and learn from.

Clara does not currently live with children, but has been around young children, so we believe she would do well in a home with kids to play with as long as she is monitored at first.

Clara is housetrained with a doggy door, but will need a home that understands there will be some housetraining with a young dog. She will also need some leash training as she has not been on regular walks. She does go in a crate when needed, but prefers to be with her people over a crate.

While Clara currently lives with cats, she isn't quite cat friendly. She hasn't tried to harm any of the cats in her home, but she does appear overly interested in them and requires close attention when near them in her foster home.

Clara is spayed, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and microchipped. She is currently in East TN, but transport will be arranged for the right home.

If interested in Clara, apply at herohounds.org/adopt
