Clara's Story
My name is Clara and I am approximately 4 years old.

Until recently, all I knew was being cooped up, bred and having puppies. I didn't know that there was really anything else to life. Then, one day, I was thrown out on the street. I was terrified as Bailey and I tried to fend for ourselves. We were picked up and taken to a shelter and from there we were sent to rescue.

Life is very different now and ever so much better. I don't have to be kept in a cage and keep having puppies. I can be my own girl, now and I am enjoying that freedom so much.

You see, I have such a deep capacity to love people, even after how I was treated. I never knew that I could just be petted and be me and enjoy life! I am a sweet girl, so very sweet.

I had never been on a leash before but now I am getting used to being walked and I stay right near my person!

I am a little hesitant when I meet new people but it doesn't take me long to warm up because I crave acceptance and love and give a lot in return.

I am just basking in this new life. I can't wait to get a forever family and be loved always. I might even like a canine companion who just wants to be my friend and not want me for a breeding partner as in my past. Cats are very scary to me however. I am a NO CATS kind of girl.

If you are a family who can be patient with me while I grow in this newfound freedom and better life and want a loving girl, give me a chance. You can read the rescue rules and adoption area at www.doberescue-ne.org and find the application there.

I can't wait to meet you!All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted. We hope you can find a place in your heart and your home for one of our rescue Dobes. Please Note:In most cases we require a fenced yard.We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.Copyright 2007 - Omaha Doberman RescueFor more information or to fill out an adoption request please visithttp://www.doberescue-ne.org/
