CITY's Story

Meet CITY!

CITY is an approximately 4 year old male neutered blue nosed pittie mix. He’s such a handsome guy and weighs around 60 lbs.

We rescued CITY from Penn Vet when his owner abandoned him
there. CITY was so underfed and hungry that he ate a dish towel which then required surgery to remove from his abdomen.

Thankfully we were able to get his surgery done and he has recovered beautifully. He’s a very strong and healthy boy!

CITY is great with all people and has met children and done well with them also. He’s met many other dogs of all shapes and sizes and done well. He can get overly excited or reactive when he sees other dogs on the leash but after some professional training he is doing much better and has responded very well to training.

We think City would do best in a home with another dog around his size as he is strong and can be very playful. We would of course require dog meets to make sure they are the right fit for each other. City is not good with cats however so he should not be placed in a home with kitties. A fenced yard would be a bonus but he also does well with having multiple walks per day.

This gorgeous boy is fully housebroken and crate trained . He loves to go for walks and walks very well on the leash.

He is also a silly boy who loves to roll around on his back and get belly rubs. He still can be very jumpy and overly excited when meeting someone new or when he has excess energy so this is something his foster is working with him on. Patience is a virtue, City!

After all he has been through, CITY has proven that he’s a survivor and he has so much love to give and many years of adventures in his future.
He is ready for his loving forever family. Could that be you?

If interested please contact Christine at christine@therescueexpress.org

The Rescue Express's Adoption Policy
All potential foster families and adopters are required to fill out an application, both of which can be found on our website. Our foster families are our biggest resource, and the more foster families we add to our family, the more dogs we can save. Our foster families are required to provide a loving, healthy, temporary home for the dogs that we have pulled from shelters who have yet to find their forever families. The rescue covers all medical expenses while our dogs are in foster care. We also require our foster families to work with one of our trainers to address any behavioral problems that develop. This partnership with local trainers is essential to making our foster families' lives easier and raises each of our dogs' adoption potential. These trainers are dedicated to savin
