Cinnamon's Story

For more information or to meet Cinnamon please reach out to her foster at 406-530-4074. All adoption paperwork will be completed at YVAS.

Cinnamon has been in and out of the shelter since she was a puppy. All of the shuffling around has caused some fear around strangers and barrier reactivity. What that really means is that when she is scared, she barks and acts tough. But you get her out of the kennel, and she turns into a lap dog and wants all the love and attention. She was struggling at Lionheart so we sent her out to foster for socialization and what a difference that has made!

Cinnamon adores the two other dogs in the home and has greeted any strangers that have come into the home. She was just at a Veteran’s Day Party with 13 people and 11 dogs! She was excellent with all of the new animals and people and we are so proud of her. This girl just needs a little time to adjust and then she can be the star of any show.

Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
At the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, we strive to help you find the best match for your home. The first step to adopting any animal begins with a simple application. Applications can be filled out ahead of time, or you can complete them in person at the shelter. This application will help staff get a quick snapshot of your home, lifestyle, needs/wants for a new pet, etc. From there staff uses their knowledge of the current population to give you suggestions and help you select the right pet. We have meet and greet yards on-site where everyone can be introduced in a neutral space. While we strongly encourage family meets at YVAS, we do not require them for cats. If you rent your home, be sure to verify your pet policy. We will need a verbal confirmation from your landlord that cats are approved pets for your residence. Applicants must be at least 18 years or older. After you’ve found the right pet and have an approved application, then we make it official! The adoption paperwork takes about 30 minutes. For this final step, we will need a photo ID, adoption fees, a few signatures, and you’re set.
