Cinnamon's Story
Cinnamon — Gentle, Smart, and Ready for Her Forever Home

Meet Cinnamon, a bright and affectionate 60 lb, 6 year old Belgian Malinois who’s as eager to please as she is loving with her people. She’s gentle, with a medium energy level for her breed — she loves staying active and included, but she’s not over the top. Whether it’s a walk or hike, a trip to the park, or tagging along on errands, Cinnamon is happiest when she’s part of the day’s plan. Cinnamon doesn’t want to be especially crowded places and is happy to wait in the car if that’s the plan.

She’s dog friendly, especially with male dogs, and she is very handler focused. Cinnamon, like many Malinois, takes her time to bring someone into her inner circle. She needs a breed experienced adopter who knows how to introduce Cinnamon to new important people and will work with our trainer on the transition. Cinnamon’s forever people will not expect Cinnamon to be the type of dog to want to greet strangers when out, and enjoy engaging with her focus on them. She’s a smart girl who thrives when she’s learning, so her adoption includes group training classes in Sebastopol on Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:30, and a pack of individual classes — a great opportunity for her new family to help her get mental activity and bond through positive, consistent training.

Cinnamon’s story is a special one: when her owners were deported, she and her brother lost the only home they’d known. A trainer recommended she be adopted separately so she could gain confidence and flourish with separate attention. She’s been in his care just to decompress some and is now ready for her forever home — one that will give her the love, patience, and continued breed savvy she deserves.

If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and gorgeous companion to share your life and adventures with, Cinnamon would love to meet you.

Because Cinnamon does take her time with her bond, any kids in her new family should be teenagers and older!
