Cindy Oct 25's Story

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.

A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.

Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list.

thanks
the CPR Adoption team

Date into Rescue: 10/29/2025
Reason for being in rescue: Cindy was surrendered by her breeder to a SC shelter
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Cindy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 11/12/25 Cindy had oral surgery to remove 2 teeth. She also had a professional ear cleaning. Our veterinarian noted that Cindy has Grade 1 bilateral MPL. Surgery is not recommended at this time. If she needs orthopedic surgery in the future, this will be the responsibility of her new owner.
Weight: 10 lbs
Height: 12 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Adoption Fee: $425

Fence needed? Not necessarily although she does not yet know the nuances of leash walking or even being an owned pet with the pleasure of long walks with her human companion. If adopted to a non-fenced home, it will take some time and patience, but she will eventually learn the skill of pottying with a human attached and then happily heading down the street for a fun walk with her BFF human. Cindy is an active, happy girl and when she is in the yard, she loveds to run. First preference will be given to single family fenced in yard home but to the right person. we can discuss a non-fenced in home.

What kind of home would be best for me? Cindy is looking for a home preferably with one other small, laid-back dog to pal around with. She could be with a work away from home person if she had the companionship of another dog but first preference will be given to those who work from home or can take their dog to work.

Please note - Cindy and Penny would still love to be adopted together although it's no longer a firm requirement. The nice thing about a pair is, if you work all day, they have each other for company. They do not need someone home all the time. They are perfectly content playing poodley girl games while you are away and once your home, it'll be a lap sandwich with one on each side of you in the recliner. They love people and want one of their own, but they have each other, too.

Penny gets along great with other dogs and would be lost without at least one companion dog. She is always found snuggling with some of her foster siblings at night.

What is my personality like? Cindy is a sweet, happy, complacent dog who I would describe as a follower, not a leader. She is very happy to be in the middle of the group. She does have a bit of a slight bum knee but it does not slow her down at all. She can run and play with no issues at all. Cindy does love an open door and she likes to saunter through it to see what is on the other side.

Cindy has been very good in the car - although we do have her ride in her crate for safety. But no car sickness.

Speaking of crates, Penny sleeps happily in a medium sized crate with 2 to 4 of her other buddies with her at night. She keeps it clean. We can't guarantee house training, so our suggestion is a crate in your bedroom for the first 30 days, then transition to you bed if you want. We think she would enjoy nighttime snuggles very much once she knows your routine.

Cindy was trained to pee pads before we received her. We use washable ones here and first thing in the am, if the door is not open fast enough, she is sprinting for the nearest pee pad to do business especially first thing. I know some people do not like pee pads in the house but based on her actions here, we think she has used one for most of her life. It means you have to be careful with having throw rugs because they look like pee pads to a dog. To us, it's a blessing to have a dog trained to pads.

How do I act when I first meet new people? Very friendly and if you're in a chair, you'll very soon have a snuggle of poodle in your lap.

Other tips and tidbits: Cindy is estimated at 7 years old. We celebrate her birthday 09/23/2018.

Please note, we were told Cindy was a are purebred miniature poodles. We do not have pedigrees. We will not guarantee complete non shedding. She does not shed here. Her bed is always clean and her hair is growing at a normal poodle rate but we can not guarantee you she is 100% hypoallergenic.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.

Thank you for considering CPR.
