Cindy Lou's Story
Cindy Lou needs a hero. Preferably one with treats.

Cindy Lou is a 9-month-old black Lab mix and the last of her litter still waiting for a home. While all her siblings packed their bags and headed off to families, she’s still here wondering when it’s her turn.

When she first arrived, she was so scared she would constantly shake, like the whole world was just too big and too loud. It broke our hearts.

But this brave little girl is trying so hard.

She’s still a bit iffy at first and is learning what normal “dog things” are — like leashes (very suspicious, apparently). But once she feels safe, her personality starts to peek out. She’ll bounce around the play yard, wagging her tail, playing with you, and showing off her goofy puppy side.

And treats? Life-changing. Cindy Lou is very food motivated. Snacks are the way to her heart and will make training a breeze.

She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped — completely ready to go home.

What she needs is someone patient and kind who will help her build confidence and show her that the world isn’t so scary. With a little time and love, she could blossom into the most loyal, devoted companion.

Black dogs in shelters get overlooked far too often, and we don’t want Cindy Lou growing up here just because she blends into the background. She deserves a couch, a yard, and someone who thinks she’s the best girl ever.

She needs her chance sooner rather than later.

If you’ve got a soft spot for the shy ones — and maybe a pocket full of treats — Cindy Lou is waiting to meet you.
