CICI**'s Story

Hello! I am a cutie pie that was transferred to OCAS from another shelter. I have heartworms, and the medical team is working on my treatment. If you're interested in me, the team at the shelter can give you more information about that. In North Carolina, it's unfortunately common to see many dogs that are infected with heartworms (they are transmitted by mosquito bites). Heartworm disease may cause severe lung disease, heart failure, or other organ damage in dogs. It's usually fatal if left untreated. Heartworm treatment is costly. With your support, OCAS can help more dogs with this disease - resulting in healthier dogs that are even more likely to get adopted. Please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign . Insights from my adventure buddies and foster friends: Cici is an incredibly sweet and friendly dog. She loves cuddling with any human nearby! She is house trained and gets zoomies immediately after going potty. Cici is such a loving dog: she showers you with love and attention. I have taken so many dogs out for the day, but Cici was the easiest and sweetest girl ever! Sweetest, most loving, cuddly girl ever! Would make a great dog for someone looking for a calmer dog. An absolute angel, so well behaved and sweet. We had the best time with her. She was more than happy just lying on a blanket chilling while I was doing work if I was in her eyeline. She loves pets and attention but can also entertain herself. My favorite thing is her little army crawl that she does! Cutest thing in the world. Cici was a very sweet girl, very easy temperament, great on the leash, we loved spending time walking with her! Cici is the kind of dog everyone falls for — just ask any volunteer or anyone lucky enough to take her out for a Dog Day Out! At 5 years old, she’s the perfect mix of fun and easygoing. She still has a playful spark and enjoys getting out and about, but she settles quickly and is just as happy to relax by your side. Cici walks beautifully on leash, making outings with her a breeze. Cici is such a sweetheart! She is very engaged and cooperative. Also, gentle and well-behaved with my 8 year-old son. We took Cici to Blackwood Farm Park and hiked around there, then we went to Starbucks for a pup cup. She was amazing in the car. Sat in the front seat like a little person. She’s so sweet and loves cuddles. She likes walking as a solid pace and will run with you (she’s fast). Likes rolling around in the grass and wading in the stream. Get a pupcup and go for a walk in the park! She was super sweet and friendly.
