Churro - TRAINED DOG

Churro is a 5 year old goldendoodle that has just entered our prison dog training program. For more information about our training to adoption program, visit www.magiccityk9.org. That is also where you should fill out an application to be considered for any of our dogs. <br/><br/>Churro was in really bad shape when we rescued him from the shelter. He was surrendered by his previous owner who had been neglecting him severely. He was very matted, is overweight, overgrown nails and a broken spirit. In just one week he is already showing us his true loving amazing personality. It took us 5.5 hrs to slowly shave all the mats off his body, he had to be shaved down to the skin. The photos here on petfinder are after the first day of shaving where we were only able to take off the top-mats. He was matted so badly he even had mats as hard as rocks inside his feet beteween his toes. He coat will grow back beautifully in a few months. There are places where the hair was ripped from his skin because of how tight the mats were, and places with sores that are currently being treated for infection. <br/><br/>This is a very tolerant, loving and sweet boy. <br/><br/>Anyone interested in any of our doodles must have a realistic expectation of what the grooming requirements are for poodle type dogs.
