Chuckles's Story
UPDATE: Chuckles has entered our new training program PAWS to Freedom and will be working with inmates at the Pierre Minimum Center. This is a 6-8 week program to teach manners, tricks & skills to help make the transition to a new family even more seamless! We are excited to see Chuckle's progress along the way, and we hope to have found him a forever home by the time he completes his program. Apply today!

Chuckles is a 1-year-old male mixed breed, born on April 24, 2024. He arrived at the shelter alongside his brother, Riot, after being surrendered together. While his name might suggest constant giggles, Chuckles is more of the quiet, shy type—sweet-natured and still learning to trust the world around him.

This handsome boy is soft and sensitive, taking his time to warm up to new people and situations. Once he feels safe, his gentle personality starts to shine. He’s currently working on his manners and would thrive in a calm, patient home where he can build confidence at his own pace.

Chuckles may be reserved, but he’s got so much love to give. With consistency, kindness, and a little encouragement, he’ll grow into a loyal, loving companion who just wants to be by your side.

If you have a soft spot for shy dogs with sweet hearts and you’re ready to help a young pup come into his own, Chuckles might just be your perfect match..

Rescue dogs are notorious for losing their birth certificates before arriving in rescue. Any claims of breed, DOB, and estimated full grown size are strictly estimations made by our vets during exam and our shelter staff's experience.

Please do not use the 'Start Your Inquiry" tab on the right.
