Christopher's Story
Meet Christopher ❤️🐾

Christopher’s story is heartbreaking, but we’re hoping his next chapter will finally be filled with love and safety.

Christopher is a 6-7 year old Chihuahua who was found living near a homeless encampment, where he had reportedly been surviving on his own for 2–3 weeks with a severely broken jaw. After being rescued, he was rushed to emergency care and hospitalized. From there, he was transferred to a dental specialist, where he underwent extensive surgery, including a button procedure to repair his jaw.

Despite everyone’s best efforts, part of his jaw had to be removed. Christopher also had a full dental with fistula repairs and now has no teeth. He has since been neutered, fully vaccinated, and is current on all preventatives.

Through everything he has endured, Christopher remains incredibly sweet. He absolutely loves to cuddle and wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He is fostered with multiple dogs and does well with them.

Christopher is also quite the watchdog and will bark when people or things pass by, so he is not suited for apartment living. A single-family home would be best for him.

His potty training is still a work in progress. Christopher eats soft food and will need a family willing to help monitor mealtimes and make sure he is able to eat comfortably and safely.

Most of all, Christopher needs someone who will see past his scars and recognize the loving little dog underneath. After everything he has survived, he deserves a soft place to land and a family to call his own. ❤️

His adoption fee is $250

Please fill out an application at Coaldr.org if you would like to make Christopher part of your family
