Chopper's Story

**Location Connecticut - available w/transport to CT/PA/NY**

From chains to cuddles — meet Chopper, your new best friend!

Chopper’s story began in heartbreak — after spending much of his life chained outside, this 8-year-old sweet soul found himself in an overcrowded Alabama shelter with little hope simply because of his age.
Today, that chapter is behind him.

For the past month, Chopper has been thriving in his Connecticut foster home, learning what it means to feel safe, comfortable, and loved indoors. He has shown us exactly who he is — a true velcro dog, affectionate, loyal, a little goofy, and always eager to learn. He just wants to be close to his person.

At 54 pounds of pure love, Chopper is gentle and strong at times. He is blind in one eye, but it doesn’t slow him down at all, and he does well with other dogs (a meet-and-greet is recommended). He’s also eager to continue learning basic commands, making him a happy student for someone who has time to work with him.

Chopper is heartworm positive and already on treatment, and he has received his ProHeart injection, so his ongoing medical care is well on track. He also rides very well in the car, making him a wonderful co-pilot for life’s quieter adventures.

He would be happiest with someone who works from home, is retired, or wants a devoted daily companion. Despite everything he endured early in life, Chopper still chooses love — and now he’s ready for someone to finally choose him forever.

Apply to adopt or learn more: www.rthrs.com

Senior dogs don’t ask for much — just love, patience, and a soft place to land.
