CHOCO's Story

Meet Choco, a young and handsome pup who’s as sweet as his name! This pit bull/lab–type mix is about 1 year old and recently arrived at the shelter as a stray. Choco turns heads with his gorgeous chocolate-colored coat and those striking blue eyes—but his personality is just as lovable. He’s a high-energy guy who enjoys being around people and brings lots of happy, playful vibes wherever he goes. Since Choco is still new to the shelter, we’re continuing to learn more about his personality and how he does with other animals. As he settles in, we can’t wait to see him shine even more. Choco is ready for an active home that will help him grow, learn, and enjoy all the adventures ahead! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes: - initial canine distemper combination vaccination - first worming or stool check - rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age) - 24 Petwatch microchipping - flea treatment/preventative - spaying or neutering -heartworm testing Adoption fee: $135.00 Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2025 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $9.20. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$7.20) Leash and collar included
