Chloe [Foster or Foster-to-Adopt]'s Story

CHLOE IS UP FOR FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT ONLY!

Chloe has a unique story and she is looking for the right home that can look past her muzzle and her history.

Chloe's story:

Chloe is a court-designated “vicious dog”—how that happened is a story for another time. Because of this label, she must wear a muzzle anytime she's outside a home or enclosed space.

Sadly, dogs like Chloe often bear the consequences of human failure, while their owners face little accountability.

Chloe’s journey with us has been about rehab and redemption. Though we can’t change the law to remove her "vicious" status, we can train her to the point where the muzzle is more of a fashion statement than an indicator of an unfriendly dog.

Still, she'll carry the public stigma of having to wear a muzzle for life.

Today, Chloe is out training—working on behavior standards far beyond most pets. We hope her progress helps shift how people see muzzled dogs. Chloe has multiple doggie friends in her life that she enjoys playing with and she even has some training companion dog friends that help her learn that new dogs are not a problem.

Chloe is 5 years old, up to date on her annual medical, and has excelled so much in the past 2 years with LSR. Chloe LOVES all people including kids. She's housebroken, crate trained, and is acing her training classes! This is one smart girlie! Chloe is a huge love bug, enjoys playing fetch, gets the occasional pittie zoomies, and will melt your heart once you meet her!

Chloe is an absolute gem with humans and has no reactivity or concerns.
Chloe loves to play with other dogs, is fantastic with the cats/small animals (doesn't care about them), she would benefit from dog friends/playdates but having her alone time to decompress and enjoy her people.

Chloe is now looking for a next step foster home or forever home! Training is required and provided free of cost. The easiest transition will be a home with no other dogs and an enclosed yard. Chloe deserves a second chance, are you the one?

Chloe's training team have worked her up to CGC, CGCA (Community) and CGC Urban. New team members will be fully trained!

If you are interested in Chloe or learning more about her, please submit a volunteer app or inquiry at https://laststoprescue.com/

--------------------- About our process and fees

Our application: https://laststoprescue.com/adoption-app/
If you're interested in donating, sponsoring or volunteering please visit us at www.LastStopRescue.com or follow us on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/Laststoprescue.il!

We treat these dogs as individuals with needs and to that end all of our dogs will have been in fosters no less than two weeks, they will have at least started training if not attend weekly classes and get daily training at home with the fosters!

Which means our longest residents will be the best trained, as long as they're with us we're going to keep socializing and working through any issues they may have.

When you adopt from us you will have a very clear picture of the dog you're meeting and on going support!

Our Fees are as follows:
Senior dogs over 7 are $450
Adult dogs are $650
Puppies under 1 year are $800
Specific breeds are $900

With each adoption you will be...
1. Given up to four hours of free training (from the foster and coordinator),
a. Some dogs require additional free training hours before they can go home.
2. Full medical report of all findings,
3. All of the supplies needed for a new dog as we attain these for the care of each dog,
4. A full run down on their behavioral status, where they started, where they are and how far is left to go. This will be detailed in a training plan from us about what they can or cannot handle well and it will be discussed as much as needed!
5. On going support post adoption as long as needed!
We fully vet all of our dogs which is reflected in our adoption fee. On average we will pay about 600 dollars in medical per dog. Every dog gets a full blood panel, fecal/urine check, heartworm & tick panel and treatment if required, spayed/neutered, all shots and boosters, along with anything specific to their needs.
