Meet Chloe
Chloe is a 35 pound, 2 year old Aussie mix with. the most beautiful red merle coat. She came to the rescue after being surrendered by her owner, terrified and shut down, to the county shelter in July 2020, It was discovered quickly that Chloe had heartworm disease (as many of the dogs we rescue are), but what we didn't realize at the time is that she was also pregnant! A few months ago she gave birth to a litter of beautiful puppies who have all found wonderful homes.
While Chloe has been safe in her foster home for several months, she is still extremely frightened of her environment, of people and of other dogs until she knows she is safe. Chloe is housetrained, crate trained and walks great on a leash. She is an incredible walking partner!. She is not aggressive, but very fearful and very slow to make bonds with her caretakers. She will need a very special home who understands that this girl will need a lot of time, patience and understanding.
While she is not the type of dog for someone who wants a travel partner or a dog park or child's playmate, she can still be a wonderful pet for someone who perhaps lives a quiet life at home and is looking for a calm companion. We recommend a home without young kids, and a fenced yard for her safety.
Chloe is have already been treated for her heartworm disease and is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Our $300 adoption fee helps to cover these expenses.
