Chispita's Story
Chispita is an active, sweet female little terrier mix.
We call them terriers when they have wire type hair and we are clueless as to what their mix might be!

Chispita was surrendered to a local shelter because her owners were moving. Being dumped at an animal shelter when you are five years old and have been with your family since you can remember is incredibly hard on some of these dogs and Chispita was one of them. She really missed her family and it took her about a week in her foster home to finally realize she was not going home. It took her a couple more weeks to ‘come around’ by which I mean, be comfortable in our home. She is a dog who needs some warm up time. I am hoping it doesn’t take so long in her next home but her new family will want to know they may need to give her some time to adjust to her new family.

Chispita is house trained and good in a crate but mostly she has free roam of the house.
She sleeps on the floor in our bedroom at night. Well, not the floor but on a doggy bed. She likes her comfort!

Chispita loves to run outside and would really do best in a fenced in yard as she does not always come back when called. I mean, eventually she does but she will run like the wind for awhile and comes back when she is tired. She has not run away but there is really no place for her to go out here in the country, I suspect in an area with more houses and dogs and people she would go on adventures! It’s the terrier in her: inquisitive to a fault.

Chispita is a sweet dog, good with other dogs and cats and children.
She can also be a testy little dog and is capable of catching mice and other small furry mice like animals be they pets or not.
She is not good with pet birds, again, it’s that terrier in her.

Chispita's adoption fee is $225 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, up to date on shots and a new Lupine collar or harness and leash. Lupine is guaranteed even if chewed.

PetsConnect! animals are tech-savvy!
