Chiqui's Story
Meet Chiqui. She is the Sassy Senior you didn’t know you needed until now. This 4.4 pound senior Chihuahua mix was born 12/20/2011 and surrendered to the shelter at the age of 13 years 3 months. She has since found a foster home and is looking for a real home that will love her through her golden years. Chiqui was very scared at the shelter and reportedly was “trying to bite” which we believe was due to the trauma and stress of being abandoned. She has been in her foster home and has been very easy to handle with no bite issues. She has decompressed but does need a home that will be attentive to her medical needs. Chiqui has a cough likely due the severe dental disease. While the shelter did extract 10 teeth, she can benefit from another dental procedure. Chiqui was recently diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure which makes a dental cleaning very challenging. But if you can get past her bad breath, she will love you to hold her and pet her. She has cataracts but can still see her foster mom and other dogs in the home. She has a left hind leg that sometimes has to pickup due to her grade 4 luxating patella. She still has pep in her step and will try to outrun you. She prefers not to be around other dogs and does not like sharing bowls. She is currently being fostered with 4 other dogs, but they let her be and she has her own space to call hers. This sweet senior Chi recently had a bath and a nail trim. She did very well being cleaned up and did not fuss or make any attempts to stop being pampered. Are you interested in continuing to pamper and spoil Chiqui? Then apply to adopt, this is the first step to meeting this sweet and special senior lady. Her adoption fee is $200.
