He is a sensitive, thoughtful boy who takes a moment to "interview" new people, but once you are in his circle, you are in for life. Chippy specializes in picking "his person" and showering them with unmatched loyalty. (And gentleman, take note: Chippy has a surprising soft spot and preference for older men!)<br/>Chippys Favorite Things:<br/>The Great Outdoors: Chippy absolutely thrives when he has a fenced-in yard to patrol, explore, and—most importantly—use for his daily sunbathing sessions.<br/>Car Rides & Walks: He is a fantastic walking partner and a stellar co-pilot in the car. He is always down for a road trip!<br/>Making Dog Friends: Chippy is incredibly social with other animals. He gets along great with cats and dogs alike, and he absolutely loves visiting the dog park to make new canine friends.<br/>Nighttime Cuddles: After a day of outdoor fun, Chippys favorite place to be is curled up right next to you on the couch or bed.<br/>His Sensitive Side (The Honest Stuff):<br/>Because Chippy is a thoughtful observer, the big, busy world can sometimes feel a little overwhelming. He can be wary of loud, sudden noises or brand-new, bustling environments. When he's in a new place, he likes to take his time to look around and make sure everything is safe.<br/>He is an excellent "watchdog" but prefers to take his cues from another confident dog. If he has a canine sibling to show him the ropes, he is a brave, quiet protector who rarely barks unless hes letting you know someone is at the door.<br/><br/>House-training & Routines: Chippy is fully house-trained, but hes a gentleman of quiet habits! Because his foster home has an open-door policy to the yard, Chippy doesn't bark or scratch at the door to tell you he has to go. Instead, if the door is closed, he will show you he's ready with a little "restless pacing." He thrives on a predictable routine, so as long as he has regular potty breaks or a family who can spot his quiet cues, he is an absolute breeze to keep clean and happy.<br/><br/>The Ideal Match:<br/>Chippy is an incredibly polite houseguest and does well to relax when left on his own. His dream home would have:<br/>A fenced-in yard to run and sunbathe in.<br/>A calm, patient household that understands he needs a few weeks to adjust to a new routine.<br/>Another confident dog (or cat!) to keep him company and help build his confidence in new situations.<br/>Chippy has spent his time in foster care learning how to be the best boy possible.
