Chippy's Story

Chippy was rescued by PACC from a hoarding situation and was aged around 4YO by PACC. He does show way more puppy behavior. So, he could be younger or it could be that he never had the chance to be happy and playful in his puppy years. He has been neutered and has healed up wonderfully. As I mentioned he is very very active and will need a home with a secure backyard and constant supervision, where he can do his zoomies a few times a day. He loves exploring! He is smart and very curious; this combination sometimes gets him into mischief. He loves to take things that do not belong to him and run away so you will chase him.

He will need close supervision for a while he matures. He will need another young dog (at least one other dog) to run and play with in an active home. I consider myself active, but I think Chippy would be happier in a home where he can go places with his family and explore. He has been around one cat (who does not like dogs at all!) and he was a little nervous but curious, still he was very gentle and cautious. He probably does not do well with children under 12. He is a little skittish meeting new people and will need patience before getting picked up by anyone new.

He doesnt like to be locked up or behind a gate and will do everything in his puppy power to escape! He is a runner! And he can be so sneaky, he has snuck past me several times into other rooms and once almost got away from me out the front door (this only happens once on my watch!!). He is a good boy though and learns fast! He learned to walk on a leash within a few days and loves to roll in the grass so vigorously he sometimes almost gets out of his harness (again, he is an escape artist!). He is still working on his potty training and does still mark in the house. But will wear his belly band without too much complaining. He loves to be held, carried around like a baby and loved on. He is very lovable and we are all in love with him. He loves to sleep in bed with his person or in his own puppy bed beside yours. Again, he does not do well being crated. He does seem to shed a moderate amount, but this could be his puppy coat, another reason I think he may be younger than 4.

Chippy will make a wonderful companion, loves to play with other dogs and does enjoy snuggling with his human as well.
