He needs a confident leader to look to for guidance, as he is highly intelligent and can calculate how to make mischief.

Chip is also very sensitive and soulful. He occasionally exhibits non-destructive separation anxiety (aka FOMO), but has been in a live-in training program which has helped assuage it significantly.

He has great recall, a solid Sit, Down and Place; and he's crate-trained.

This amazing boy loves children, however he has twice been rehomed due to families with babies/children having no time for him. His original family adopted him as a puppy, then replaced him with another puppy, so naturally he has abandonment syndrome. Chip would do best in a calm, routine household with active, dog-dedicated humans who work from home and/or part-time, with a fenced in yard. He would love a sibling dog!

Chip’s adoption comes with training sessions to transfer the training so that it can be maintained until he settles in successfully. It will be a thoughtful, gradual transfer so that he doesn’t feel (yet again) abandoned. These sessions are required, as well as complimentary.

For more info and/or to apply to adopt Chip, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly.
