Chip's Story

Chip is a younger guy, we would estimate he's about a year and a half and has a ton of energy! Chip has had a bit of a tough time adjusting to shelter life but we're helping him feel safe and working on some of his separation issues. With no history it's hard to say if he has true separation anxiety or this big change is what's stressing him out. He walks well on leash and would be a great walking or hiking companion.<br/><br/>Chip has been friendly and affectionate from the start and loves to play with toys. We are still getting to know him and how he behaves around other dogs. He's still recovering from his neuter so we are taking it slow. Being a younger dog he'<br/><br/>Chip would be best in an adult home, and not for a first time dog owners. As we learn more about him we'll update his bio!

Adoptable Animal Viewing Hours Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Closed all Statutory Holidays To ensure the best for the animals in our care, dog viewing is only available by approved application. If you see a pet you are interested in you can send in an application or email for more info. Applications are available at coquitlam.ca and can be emailed to adoption@coquitlam.ca. All the animals that arrive at the Shelter are stray. The information that we have on the animals has been gathered since their arrival at the Shelter. and with the help of our volunteers. We do our best to assess the animals and disclose everything we know regarding health and temperament to interested adopters We do not adopt outside of BC or ship animals. We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the h?n?q??min??m? word k?ik?????m (kwee-kwuh-tlum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”.
