Chip's Story
At just 1 year old, Chip has already experienced more heartbreak than most dogs ever should.

Chip was adopted from the shelter as a tiny 2-month-old puppy. A year later, he was surrendered back. He was adopted again, only to be returned after just two days. Through no fault of his own, Chip found himself running out of time in the shelter system beforewe stepped in and gave him the third chance he deserves.

The incredible thing about Chip? He hasn't let any of it change who he is.

This 48-pound German Shepherd mix is everything you could want in a young dog: affectionate, social, intelligent, and eager to please. He loves people, enjoys making new friends, and has quickly become a favorite everywhere he goes. His foster family says everyone who meets him comments on what a wonderful temperament he has.

Chip is dog-friendly and has done beautifully with dogs of all sizes, including tiny dogs and energetic young pups. He enjoys playtime, walks nicely on leash, and already knows several commands. He's incredibly smart and loves learning new things.

He's also making amazing progress with crate training. Chip is becoming comfortable being left alone, is settling nicely into a routine, and has embraced crate training. In fact, he'll often choose to go into his crate on his own to relax or take a nap during the day.

Like any young German Shepherd mix, Chip will thrive with an adopter who can provide exercise, structure, continued training, and consistency. He's still very much a puppy and is looking for someone committed to helping him grow into the incredible adult dog we know he'll become.

After being let down so many times, Chip deserves a family that sees him as forever.

Chip is 1 year old, 48 pounds, neutered, vaccinated, dog & kid friendly, and ready to find his forever home.
