Chip's Story

Hey there, I'm Chip.

I'm about 5 years old, weigh around 65 pounds, and I'm a neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped mixed breed guy.

People are my favorite thing. I'm incredibly friendly, love attention, and I'm great with kids. Being part of a family and soaking up love is what makes me happiest.

I do get along with other dogs, but I do best with calm, laid-back pals-or I may truly shine as your one and only. I can struggle with sharing certain high-value items, like balls, which is something we learned during a trial placement. Because of that, my rescue believes I'd thrive in a single-dog home where I don't have to compete for toys or attention.

I'm still working on perfecting my house training, but I'm trying hard and making progress. Belly bands have been a big help while I continue learning. I'd love a home with a fenced yard where I can enjoy some outdoor time and stretch my legs.

When I joined the rescue in January 2025, I came in heartworm positive. I've since gone through treatment and handled it like a champ. Toward the end of January, I also faced a major medical emergency-one that had everyone very worried-but I fought hard, pulled through, and surprised everyone with just how strong I am. Since then, I've been excelling and showing just how resilient I can be.

If you're looking for a loving, people-focused dog who's overcome a lot and is ready to move forward into a stable, happy home, I'd love the chance to be your guy.
