Chino's Story

With heavy hearts, Chino’s family is searching for a new beginning for him after his beloved mom moved into a nursing home. Sadly, no one can give him the time and devotion she once did — and this sensitive little guy truly thrives on love and consistency. Chino is a 7-year-old, 12-pound terrier mix with a gentle soul and a playful spark once he feels safe. He’s neutered, house-trained, and crate-trained — a well-mannered gentleman who understands the routine of home life. He has spent his entire life with his companion pup (who is also being surrendered), so big changes can feel overwhelming. Chino has never been around children or cats, so a quiet, predictable adult home would likely help him feel most secure. When meeting new people, Chino can be timid and shy — he’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply once trust is built. He does fine at the vet, but grooming is very stressful for him and requires sedation. He will need a patient adopter who understands that fear and anxiety aren’t flaws — they just mean he needs a little extra reassurance and compassion. After years of loyalty, Chino deserves a soft landing — a calm home filled with kindness, understanding, and steady love. With patience, his playful, devoted personality will shine. If you’re willing to open your heart to a sensitive soul who will love you deeply in return, Chino may be waiting just for you. 💙 https://schnauzerrescuetexas.me/adopt
