Chili's Story

Chili is just 7 months old — a baby who has already overcome more than most dogs ever should.

He was rescued from a severe hoarding situation in transitional housing, where over 25 chihuahuas were confined inside a small apartment. The dogs never went outside. Never felt grass. Never went on walks. The floors and furniture were covered in feces and urine. The air was toxic. The dogs were being bred, living in constant confinement and chaos.

When Animal Control finally gained entry, more than 20 chihuahuas were removed — but three were left behind due to legal limits. That wasn’t acceptable to us. With the help of the owner’s case manager, we stepped in and brought the final three to safety.

Chili is one of them.

Now? He’s learning to trust, working on potty training, and absolutely loves other dogs. In fact, he and January have become best friends, so he’ll thrive in a home with another playful pup. He’s also great with cats.

Chili didn’t get a normal start in life — but he deserves a beautiful future.
If you’re ready to give this gentle little soul the life he’s just beginning to understand, he’s ready to meet you.
