Chili's Story

Meet Chili (affectionately known as Chilly Willy), a gorgeous tan-spotted red heeler with the most expressive face you'll ever see. At just 1 to 3 years old, Chili has already proven to be an absolute survivor. She was found significantly underweight, bravely caring for her two young puppies. Now that her maternal duties are complete, she is thriving, gaining her strength back, and ready to be pampered as the beloved family member she deserves to be.

Chili offers the classic heeler balance of athletic drive and dedicated companionship. When it's playtime, she brings joyful, boundless energy, romping around the yard and wrestling with her canine pals. When playtime wraps up, she transitions effortlessly into world-class couch cuddle mode, tucking right in next to you for quiet evenings.

A few quick facts about Chili. She is excellent with other dogs, enjoying both active play and quiet coexistence. She is exceptionally sharp and eager to please, listening closely to directions and reliably retreating to her gated space on cue. Her high food drive makes obedience training and new tricks a breeze. That same food drive means she currently thinks all human food is fair game, a holdover from her days of going hungry, but she is making steady progress learning kitchen counter boundaries and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement.

Chili is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and current on both flea and heartworm prevention. She weighs approximately 32 pounds and has a full, long tail that rarely stops wagging. She has steadily regained healthy weight since coming into rescue and is ready to go home the day she finds her people.

Chili is looking for a home that will appreciate both her playful spark and her deeply affectionate heart. Whether joining an active household with a canine buddy or becoming the devoted shadow to an attentive adopter, Chili is ready to fill your days with loyalty, laughter, and plenty of couch cuddles.

Thanks for considering a dog from Texas Cattle Dog Rescue!
