Chief's Story

Meet Chief
Hi there! I’m Chief, about 5 months old and 30 pounds of pure sweetness. I came from Easley, where my siblings and I lived outside our whole lives. Our owner wanted better for us and tried to get us into a shelter, but it was full. Thankfully, Journey Home Rescue Alliance stepped in and made sure we traded that outdoor life for safety, love, and care—and I am thriving.

I LOVE my people. I’ll lean right into you, melt under your hands, and flop over for my favorite thing in the world… belly rubs. (Seriously. Please don’t stop.) I greet my humans with my signature wiggle butt, because my whole body gets happy when I see you.

I’m gentle and sweet with kids in my foster home, and I’ve got a playful side too! My tennis ball is my pride and joy—fetch is my jam. After a little playtime, I’m more than ready for a couch snuggle.

I’m also a smart guy who loves learning and is picking up commands like a champ. Leash walks make me a bit nervous right now, but I get braver every day. I do best with slow, calm walks, where I can listen to the world and move at my own pace with someone I trust by my side.

If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive soul who loves belly rubs, couch snuggles, tennis balls, and greeting you with a full-body wiggle… I think we might be perfect for each other.
Love always,
Chief

MORE INFO:
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, or scheduled to be if they arrived in our care too young. Each dog has been seen by our veterinarian and treated for likely the following (all various): Age appropriate vaccines, overall health exam and other alignments as they come up. All dogs are dewormed, given core vaccines (Bordetella, DHPP (3 of them if a puppy) and Rabies as well as all are microchipped and on a monthly preventative for flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

All of our animals are placed into foster homes so they thrive and the transition is easier.

If interested in learning more or meeting this pup, please fill out our adoption application.
The application can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/JHRA/Dog
