Chico's Story
Chico would absolutely love a calm, loving retirement home where he can relax and feel safe, but still stay active with walks and exploring.

He doesn’t really enjoy being around puppies or very young, super-active dogs, so I think he would be happiest with a calm, easygoing dog or as the only dog. Once he feels comfortable and happy, he really comes out of his shell and shows his sweet, playful personality. He will even chase his tail when he’s excited and happy!

It’s been so sweet watching him gain confidence and figure out his new surroundings. Even though he is blind, he doesn’t let that stop him from being a dog or enjoying life. He adjusts surprisingly quickly and is learning to navigate his surroundings in his own way.

He loves his walks, cuddling, and being close to his person, but he is also perfectly happy relaxing on the couch and sleeping when things are quiet. He really is such a special little guy and deserves a loving home where he can enjoy his retirement while still having plenty of walks, cuddles, love, and little adventures.

We haven't had him around kids, so unsure how he would do. Small kids would probably be too much for him. But older, respectful kids who can give him space and go slow with him, should be okay.

Chico is estimated to be between 10-11. He is up to date on vaccines and will be microchipped before adoption. If you're interested in meeting him, please fill out our adoption application first. If it's a good fit, our adoption coordinator will be in touch for next steps!
