Chico's Story
Hi… I’m Chico. And yes, I know I’m a little different.
Hi there. I’m Chico—a small dog with a big personality and an even bigger collection of quirks.

A while back, I had a back injury. It healed, but I ended up with my own… unique way of getting around. My foster mom says I sometimes look like the little hand from The Addams Family. I’m not totally sure what that means, but I’ve chosen to take it as a compliment.

I’m not your typical dog. I’m more like a quiet little creature who wants a cozy life, a calm home, and a human who thinks “weird” is something wonderful.

About Me

I enjoy:

Peace
Quiet
Soft beds
Predictable dinners
I do not enjoy:

Chaos
Noise
Being rushed
Walking fast
Walking at all, actually
I’m pretty low-maintenance… as long as your definition of low-maintenance includes carrying me outside to pee like a tiny, slightly judgmental prince.

The Potty Talk (Let’s Just Get It Over With)

Let’s start with poop—because why not?

Mine looks like rabbit pellets. Yes, really. Tiny little pieces. So honestly… is it that bad? If I must go indoors because the weather is too cold, too hot, too wet, too windy, or just generally offensive, at least I keep cleanup manageable. You’re welcome.

Now, about the peeing. In my previous home, I was going constantly. The vet checked everything—nothing unusual showed up. Back with my foster mom, I am trying really hard. But my foster mom puts potty pads down for me and I am really good about hitting them.

But if I’m left too long during the day… mistakes can happen. I believe in honesty.

The Food Situation (Very Important)

Please pay close attention here: I am picky. Capital P.

Pick a soft food and I love it… until I don’t. And when that happens, I will absolutely refuse to eat it. I’m talking full hunger strike. Dramatic artist energy.

So here’s a crucial tip: do not buy in bulk. The moment you commit to a large supply is the exact moment I will decide I hate it.

Where I Thrive

I do best in a home that is:

Very quiet
Very calm
Very patient
Possibly has a fenced yard (I do better pottying off-leash)
Has no kids
Has someone home often
I am not a hiking buddy.
I am not a jogging partner.
I am not even a “short walk around the block” kind of guy.

My Adoption Story

I had an adoption that didn’t work out. They really tried, but my potty quirks were too much for that environment.

It was hard to come back, but also a relief to return to the calm, predictable routine of my foster home. Now my foster mom is being extra careful to find me the right forever home.

No more bouncing around. I’m ready for my person.

What I Can Offer

I won’t fetch.
I won’t do tricks.
I won’t hike mountains.

But I will be your quiet, quirky little companion.

I’ll do a happy wiggle at dinnertime.
I’ll sleep peacefully knowing you’re nearby.
And I’ll love you—with all my odd little ways—for the rest of my life.

If you read all of this and thought,
“Honestly… I kind of love this weird little guy,”

…then maybe you’re exactly who I’ve been waiting for.

About Me
I enjoy:
Peace
Quiet
Soft beds
Predictable dinners
I do not enjoy:
Chaos
Noise
Being rushed
Walking fast
Walking at all, actually
I’m pretty low-maintenance… as long as your definition of low-maintenance includes carrying me outside to pee like a tiny, slightly judgmental prince.
