Chickalita's Story

Chickalita is a tiny, sweet Terrier Maltese mix puppy who gets around on just 3 legs.

She was from a home in Bakersfield who didn't fix their dogs which led to several accidental litters. Overwhelmed, the family reached out to us for help. Now that her mama and most of her siblings have found their forever homes, it’s Chickalita’s turn to find a family to love her and call her own.

At just 7 months old and 7 lbs, Chickalita is a curious and affectionate little girl. She's a bit shy at first, but once she feels safe, her playful and silly personality shines through. She gets along great with kids and other dogs, loves to snuggle, and is always ready for some love. Chickalita is also comfortable using the doggy door, enjoys hopping onto the couch for some cuddles, and has a blast wrestling and playing with her foster doggie friends.

Chickalita has a birth defect in her front leg, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She does everything a typical puppy does and enjoys life to the fullest.

Chickalita is looking for a patient, loving home that will give her the time she needs to feel confident. In return, she’ll give endless kisses, sweetness, and snuggles.

Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped Chickalita waiting for someone to fall in love with her!

----

Looking to Adopt? More about our process: STEP 1: APPLICATION If you're interested in adopting, please fill out a rescue questionnaire. Please be thorough in your answers. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. Be ready to adopt, as adoptions can happen quickly. Adoptions include: - 10% off training at Zoom Room Thousand Oaks - A free day at doggy daycare at Barks N' Rec - A free grooming at Indiana Bones - A free check-up with Slaton Veterinary Hospital - A free 30 minute visit from Valley Pet Sitting - A free collar, tag, harness & leash As well as all the vaccines they've had thus far, the microchip, and the spay/neuter.
