Chia's Story

ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt.

// // Meet Chia! Chia is a 2-year-old, 8-pound Chihuahua with a huge personality packed into a tiny body. She's playful, confident, and always ready to make you smile with her silly antics. If you're looking for a quiet dog, Chia probably isn't your girl—she has plenty to say and isn't shy about using her voice. Because of this, she'll do best in a home where barking won't be an issue.

Chia has an adorable, puppy-like spirit and often seems much younger than her age. She loves playing with toys, chewing on bones, and zooming around the house. When meeting new people, she can be a bit dramatic—barking, chasing, and making a big first impression—but give her just a few minutes and she's ready to be your new best friend.

She gets along well with both large and small dogs and has even done well with cats. While she enjoys having furry friends around, Chia also has a confident streak and likes to think she's in charge. Her big personality is part of her charm!

Chia is very food motivated, which should make continued training fun and rewarding. She's still working on her house-training skills and is making progress. She sleeps soundly under the covers at night and loves being close to her people. She isn't a fan of the crate and may cry or howl for a short time when kenneled, so a home where crating isn't a regular necessity would be ideal. Since she's only been kenneled with other dogs nearby, we're not sure how she'd do if left completely alone.

She walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and absolutely loves attention and affection. Chia will thrive in an adult-only home with someone who appreciates her spirited personality and is willing to continue helping her build confidence and good manners.

If you're looking for a fun, affectionate, entertaining little companion who will keep you laughing and never let you miss the doorbell, Chia just might be your perfect match.
