Cheyenne's Story

Meet Cheyenne!

Our Loyal Guardian Ready for Her Forever Home! Cheyenne is a beautiful, nearly 9-year-old Coonhound mix with a big heart and a strong sense of loyalty. She’s been through quite a journey, and while she’s been returned a few times, we know her perfect match is out there – someone who understands her protective nature and will give her the stability she deserves. Cheyenne bonds deeply with her people and takes her job as a protector seriously. She can be overprotective in a home environment, which is why her previous adopters found it difficult to manage her. But with the right person – someone patient, dog-savvy, and ideally experienced with protective breeds – Cheyenne will thrive as a loyal and loving companion. She would do best in a calm, adult-only home with a secure yard and no small animals. Her natural hunting instincts make her unsuitable for homes with cats or small dogs, but she may do well with a larger, easygoing canine friend after a proper introduction. While Cheyenne is strong-willed, she’s also intelligent, affectionate, and eager to please once she trusts you. She’s looking for someone who will give her clear boundaries, consistency, and a home where she feels safe. If you believe in second (or third!) chances and are looking for a loyal dog who will be your best friend and fiercest protector, Cheyenne just might be the one for you.

To make an appointment to meet Cheyenne, please complete your application at this link: https://PetsFurPeople.org/pre-application/ Follow it up with a phone call.
