Meet Chewbarka <br/><br/>Chewbarka, Chewy for short, is a 2-year-old, 60-pound German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his ears. His past is a mystery, but what we do know is that Chewy is incredibly sweet, gentle, and just a bit scared of the world around him, especially new people. He's timid at first, but there's a loving, loyal dog waiting patiently to shine once he feels safe.<br/><br/>Chewy does wonderfully with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. Playing with his dog housemates helps bring out his happy side, and canine friends give him confidence. He's also fantastic on a leash and absolutely loves going for walks. Those are some of his favorite moments of the day.<br/><br/>At night, Chewy sleeps soundly in his crate like a champ. During the day, the crate isn't his favorite place, but with a little time he settles in just fine. He's also a potty training superstar and hasn't had a single accident in the house. He knows that outside is the place to go!<br/><br/>Chewy is looking for a patient, understanding family who will give him the time and space he needs to warm up and learn that the world isn't such a scary place after all.
