CHEVY's Story

Chevy is aptly named after that big, beloved 1980 Chevy truck your dad refused to sell—classic, sturdy, full of charm, and impossible not to love. This guy puts a huge smile on my face every time I see him, especially when he starts that soft, grumbly “love bark” that sounds like he’s greeting an old friend. He may not be a young pup anymore, but that’s exactly what gives him such personality. Chevy loves to be loved. And yes—he still plays! Fetch isn’t his sport of choice, but give him a tough squeaky toy and he turns into an 85-pound toddler having the time of his life. If you’re looking for a big, lovable, laid-back companion, he’s your guy. He’d even make a fantastic workshop dog—the kind who supervises from a comfy corner and reminds you to take breaks. If you don’t want to take my word for it, here’s what a volunteer who took Chevy out for a day had to say: “Chevy was a great HAT companion. He got into the car with no problem. We got him a couple of chew toys for the car ride. We took him to the Rail Yard and he had excellent leash manners, only pulling when he wanted to check something out. He greeted people, young and old, politely and enjoyed all the attention and pets. People were really attracted to him and his congeniality! He also did not exhibit any dog reactivity at all, just curiosity. Chevy is the ultimate, easy HAT buddy” Chevy's adoption fee is waived. he is neutered and microchipped and has age-appropriate vaccinations. A Licensing/micrchip fee may apply.
