Chevy's Story
Chevy was born on Sept 9, 2022, as a gift for a young man who had to move out of state and couldn’t take his beautiful Belgian Malinois.

She’s been professionally trained by a professional K9 Police dog trainer, and Chevy is extremely smart and very eager to please. She learned to heel, sit, “place” (pointed sit to lay down), stay, wait and transport (between the legs) and walk on a leash with a spring collar.

Chevy heels nicely especially with a springer collar, and her current foster runs several miles with her and does fine on runs and not trip her up with corrections.

She is crate trained for sleep at night or anytime needed, and she knows the command “go to bed.” She doesn’t whine or cry in there and finds comfort there.

Chevy is completely potty trained.

She is FAST and high energy. She needs to go to work!

She is very strong and needs occasional correction while on walks or even moving through the house.

She is highly motivated by treats, food, and play. She will relentlessly bring you anything to throw so she can fetch it. She knows commands to “back off,” “drop it,” and “go get it.” She loves to train and play.

Chevy is high energy, so she needs exercise and she needs to work. She’d excel at sports such as dock diving and frisbee.

Chevy is very loving and sweet. She loves to nap and lay close when permitted. She will follow you anywhere and do it with a smile.

She is about 80 pounds. She is spayed at age 1. She’s up to date on all her shots, too.

Ideally Chevy would have a big yard, other dogs to play with and a very attentive owner.

She lives with two little dogs: multi-poo and a mix - both under 20 pounds and Chevy lets the littlest one rule the roost. They lay very well with the occasional scuffle by the littlest and Chevy just lets her tug on her ears, bite her ankles and jump on her.

Her current foster will even donate a year’s worth of Kahoots premium all protein food, her crate, toys and update her shots.

Email findabestbuddy@gmail.com or call 858-602-2061 for more info on this very special girl.
