Chestnut's Story

To learn more about Chestnut, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org

Chestnut will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one-event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs.

If enthusiasm had a mascot, it would be Chestnut! This 3-year-old hound mix is equal parts adventure buddy, toy enthusiast, cuddle bug, and professional greeter. Whether he's welcoming you like you've been gone for years or proudly parading around with his favorite toy, Chestnut lives life with his whole heart.

This handsome boy turns heads with his gorgeous black-and-white ticking, but it's his personality that really steals the spotlight. Chestnut LOVES his people and isn't afraid to show it-expect happy wiggles, requests for hugs, and plenty of affection. He's also dog-friendly and enjoys playing with his canine pals.

Looking for a dog who's as smart as he is fun? Chestnut checks that box, too! He's incredibly food motivated, already knows several commands, and loves anything that gives his brain a workout. Puzzle toys, training games, enrichment activities, and a game of fetch? Sign him up! And don't even get him started on squeaky toys... they may not survive for long, but they'll have the time of their lives while they last.

When it's time to head out, Chestnut is a fantastic walking buddy. He walks nicely on leash, checks in with you throughout your adventure, and is always ready to see where the day takes you. Chestnut is the kind of dog who makes ordinary days more exciting, quiet moments more joyful, and every adventure a little more fun. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who's always ready to play, learn, explore, and love you with his whole heart, Chestnut is waiting to meet you!
