Chestnut's Story
To learn more about Chestnut, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org

Chestnut will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one-event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs.

Chestnut is a 3-year-old hound mix with stunning, one-of-a-kind markings, including beautiful black-and-white ticking that makes him truly unforgettable. Just as impressive as his looks is his people-loving personality - Chestnut absolutely adores meeting new friends and is happiest when he's part of the action! He walks well on leash, though his enthusiasm can sometimes bring out his impressive vertical jumps, but he is easily redirected. Because of his size, athleticism, and excitement level, Chestnut will do best with an adopter who can set clear boundaries and help him channel his energy in positive, appropriate ways.

Smart, playful, and highly food-motivated, Chestnut thrives when he has a job to do. He already knows "sit" and is working on "wait" and "place," catching on quickly and making him a fun, rewarding dog to train. He loves enrichment, chewing on a good bone, and playing hard with toys - especially squeaky ones (which don't tend to last long!). Whether he's tossing a toy around on his own or leaning in close for pets with a big, happy grin, Chestnut is a joyful, affectionate lovebug ready for an active home that can offer structure, enrichment, and plenty of adventure. This charming boy can't wait to meet you and he promises to bring so much love, fun, and light to your life when you bring him home!
