Chestnut's Story
READ THE FOLLOWING FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION AND FOR A DESCRIPTION OF THIS PET:

Meet Chestnut, a 3 year old chihuahua mix weighing in at 9lbs. Chestnut came to us from a high kill shelter as a scared pup and bonded with his foster dad immediately, but took a while to warm up to his foster mom. He has come around with foster mom but still prefers dad, so a child-free home where a male would be the predominant carer would be perfect for Chestnut. Chestnut's adopter must understand that he will need time to adjust and should have chihuahua experience - with training and time in his foster home, he has blossomed into a sweetheart. Chestnut does have some resource guarding, mainly with food, and the willingness to manage this guarding and experience with chihuahuas are paramount in ensuring a good fit.

Chestnut loves to play with toys, chew on nylabones, and cuddle with you on the couch. He is good with other chill dogs and needs a minute to get used to them. Chestnut is doing great going potty outside or using pee pads. He is crate trained and would do best with a fenced in yard, but that is not required. He loves going on walks and does great on a leash.

Chestnut has been neutered, microchipped, is UTD on core vaccines and flea/tick/hw preventative, and has had a dental. Chestnut's adoption fee is $450.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS:

- The first step towards adoption is to complete an adoption application, which can be found online at our website www.roadtriprescues.com, under the “ADOPT” tab.

- Do not use the Petfinder links or email to ask us about our adoptable dog listings - we do not always receive these messages and will not respond to them.

- Please do not ask if a dog is still available - we do our best to update their status as quickly as possible. If a dog is listed for adoption, it means we have not yet approved an adopter and are still accepting applications.

- PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY APPROVED ADOPTERS WILL BE PERMITTED TO MEET OUR RESCUES - WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE AND ALL OF OUR DOGS LIVE WITH US AS FAMILY.

Thanks for considering a rescue pup!

Road Trip Rescues Inc. - Bethlehem, PA
PA Kennel License #7186
